Dental crowns are used for restoration of shape and colour of already existing teeth. They are made in the cases when the teeth are destroyed by caries, when teeth are broken or with aesthetically and functionally problematic teeth.
Bridges are most often used to replace a lost tooth or teeth.
Depending on the material used they can be either metal-ceramic where porcelain is fused to underlying metal structure or all-ceramic (metal – free), entirely made of porcelain. The biggest advantage of all-ceramic versus metal-ceramic is the first class aesthetics.
